The drums used throughout this website were custom designed and built by Jobeky Drums, exclusively for DrumAngle.com. The kit was designed to look like an acoustic kit while functioning entirely as an electronic kit.
This drum setup is from Jobeky’s Prestige Line, utilizing high-end electronics and components. The actual finish on the drums is a Pippy Oak real wood veneer with a custom stain and semi-gloss finish. The darker stain adds a bit of richness to the look of the drums, while the semi-gloss finish adds a subtle shine that’s picked up nicely by the cameras. The lug, rims and tension rods on all of the drums feature a custom high-gloss black nickel chrome plating to add contrast between the wood finish and the hardware.
To complete the look of the kit, the cymbals had to look the part while functioning as electronic triggers. I now use Jobeky E-Cymbals for my DrumAngle.com setup. The cymbals look and feel like the real thing, while producing an accurate and highly sensitive electronic trigger response.
I use a 20″ three-zone ride, 18″/16″/14″ dual-zone crashes and a 14″ dual-zone hi-hat. All cymbals are “chokeable” from anywhere on the cymbal.
The Porter & Davies tactile monitoring system is used to produce the feeling of performing in a live stage scenario. This monitoring system creates an experience that feels like you’re performing on a live stage with a full sound system setup.
I use the Porter & Davies tactile monitoring system. The Porter & Davies BC Gigster is used for the DrumAngle studio configuration and the Porter & Davies BC2 is used for live performance and practice setups.
Hardware, Pedals and Drum Module Information:
All hardware is from Gibraltar. Bass drum pedals are DW 9000 series double pedals.
All of the drum heads used on this kit are the Jobeky Tri-ply Mesh Heads. They provide great trigger sensitivity along with 3-ply durability.
The drum module used in all of the video content for DrumAngle.com is a Roland TD-30. The MIDI performances are sent through the TD-30, bypassing the onboard module sounds in order to trigger drum samples from Superior Drummer 3 or EZdrummer 2.
I also use the Porter & Davies tactile monitoring system. The Porter & Davies BC Gigster is used for the DrumAngle studio configuration and the Porter & Davies BC2 is used for live performance and practice setups.
(Legacy performances produced using Superior Drummer 2)
